48, died at Phelps Memorial Hospital in
Tarrytown, NY on January 5, 2016 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Lisa was diagnosed in August 2014 and fought each day with courage, dignity and grace. Born on January 26, 1967 in Orchard Park, NY, to Eugene and Anne Blamowski, she attended the Immaculata Academy and graduated from SUNY-Geneseo in 1989. After graduating from college, she moved to New York City, and received her MBA from Fordham University. Lisa married Thomas Skelton on September 24, 1994 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Orchard Park. Lisa and Tom chose the wedding song "Wonderful Tonight." Lisa loved her wonderful children Sara, Jack and Rebecca more than life itself, and could not have been more proud of them. She worked as a freelance writer and editor and was an avid golfer and skier. She loved to spend time in Vermont and to travel, including trips to England, Ireland, Virgin Gorda, Captiva Island, Turks & Caicos, St. John, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman and, most recently, to Paris this past August. Survivors include her husband Tom; her adoring children Sara, Jack and Rebecca; her father Eugene; her brothers David (Julie) and Daniel (Michelle) and many nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins. Lisa was predeceased by her mother, Anne Blamowski, on December 29, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Orchard Park. A Memorial Luncheon will follow at 11:30 AM at the Columns Banquets, 2221 Transit Rd., Elma, NY 14059. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
