The Main Street Art Gallery, a new art and performance space featuring eclectic programming and headquartered in the former home of Main Street Studios, will open to the public at 5 p.m. Jan. 22.
According to curator Cole Pawlowski, the inaugural exhibition, "Resurgence: Growth of a City and a People," will feature painting, photography and a range of other media by artists of all experience levels.
"This inaugural exhibition serves to celebrate the wonderful cultural and artistic diversity that can be found throughout the region," a statement from the gallery reads. "We here at the Main Street Gallery are truly honored to be playing a part in the revitalization of our beloved city and promise there is much more to come."
In its previous incarnation, 515 Main St. housed artist studios, an exhibition space and the business of photographer Erica Eichelkraut Zilbauer. It is also the site for a popular mural by artists Chuck Tingley, Max Collins and OGRE that was created in 2012:
