Herschell Carrousel Museum closed for the season

NORTH TONAWANDA – The Herschell Carrousel Museum issued a thank-you on Thursday to everyone who visited and supported the museum this past year.

The museum closed for the season on Jan. 2 and remains closed until to April 1, with the exceptions of special events. Private parties, tours and photo shoots can be scheduled by contacting the museum by email at

The museum will be open during Presidents’ Break, from Feb. 15 to 19, and will celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Week. Each day of that week will feature a different STEM theme and activity. There will also be a St. Patrick’s Celebration from noon to 4 p.m. March 12.

Opening weekend for the 2016 season will be from noon to 4 p.m. on April 2 and 3.

This year there will be a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the 1916 Herschell #1 Special Carrousel.
