Buffalo man indicted for heroin and crack trafficking

Rashawn Crule, 40, of Buffalo was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday for allegedly trafficking in heroin and cocaine and illegally having a handgun in his Gillette Avenue home.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said Crule, if convicted as charged of criminal possession and distribution of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, maintaining a drug-involved premises and illegally having a firearm as a prior felon, faces a possible life term in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

Crule was charged with trafficking in narcotics between last Oct. 2 and Nov. 2 and illegally having a 9 mm handgun even though he is a prior felon. At his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. he was released on bail pending further court proceedings.
