Bank employee hurt when vehicle strikes Grand Island bank

A woman drove her vehicle into a Grand Island bank Wednesday afternoon, injuring a bank employee, the Erie County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash happened at the First Niagara Bank branch at 2300 Grand Island Blvd. just before 4 p.m.

Authorities needed a tow truck to extract the car from the building before they could get to the driver, who was unhurt, the sheriff's office said.

A bank employee sought treatment for a lower-body injury.

The sheriff's office did not disclose the identities of any party involved in the incident.
