Wheatfield hires auditing firm

WHEATFIELD – The Wheatfield Town Board this week hired the Drescher & Malecki auditing firm of Cheektowaga to perform the town’s annual independent audit for two years, with an option to extend the deal for three years beyond that.

The firm is to be paid $17,300 and $17,613 for auditing the books for the next two years. If the town extends the contract, the fees will be $17,927, $18,252 and $18,578.

Supervisor Robert B. Cliffe insisted on signing the Drescher firm for only two years up front, saying he didn’t want to bind future town boards to the contract.
