BATAVIA – Five men and a woman were arrested Tuesday by the Genesee County Local Drug Enforcement Task Force in connection with a continuing investigation of county-wide sales of a number of illicit substances. Taken into custody in separate raids were Joseph M. Platten, 32, and James R. Soccio, 34, both of Batavia; Joseph C. Gaudio, 35, of Pavilion; Jennifer S. Maychoss, 41, of Corfu; Nicholas E. Patterson, 21, of Pembroke and Edward Jordan White, 20, of Lockport.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said all six were charged in sealed indictments with felony counts of criminal possession and sale of controlled substances ranging from cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and narcotic pills to methadone.
Platten was charged with trafficking in narcotic pills in the Batavia area; Soccio was charged with selling a quantity of methadone recently to an undercover agent of the drug task force; Gaudio was charged with trafficking in cocaine in the Pavilion area; Maychoss was accused of selling narcotic pills and cocaine recently to undercover agents of the drug task force. Patterson is accused of trafficking in narcotic pills in Batavia and Pembroke.
White, who is accused of trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine around Batavia also faces probation violation charges for an earlier arrest, as well as operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
The Genesee County District Attorney’s Office, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies, and officers of the Batavia and Leroy police departments assisted drug task force agents in the continuing investigation of county-wide drug dealing.
