Singer indicted on gun, assault charges

LOCKPORT – An indictment was unsealed Wednesday against a touring country singer who is accused of choking his girlfriend and of having an unregistered nine-shot revolver, which was allegedly found when the woman allowed police to search her Royalton home.

Michael S. Moore, 42, pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court to second- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree assault.

The incident allegedly occurred Oct. 22 in a home on Hartland Road. Moore, who performs under the name Michael Wright, is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
