Buffalo man pleads guilty to Veterans Hospital assault and theft

Norris King, 52, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott to theft and assault charges for the attempted theft of three winter jackets from the Canteen Services store at Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Bailey Avenue.

He also was accused of assaulting an elderly military veteran who had gone to the medical center for treatment on Dec. 9. U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said King will face a prison term of up to two years when he is sentenced April 20.
