Police find cocaine after Batavia traffic stop

BATAVIA – A Batavia man faces drug charges after a weekend traffic stop.

Leonard A. Johnson III, 23, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on Ellicott Street just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Batavia police said.

Police reported they found Johnson, of Hutchins Street, had a dozen small bags of cocaine. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, as well as second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Johnson was arraigned Saturday and was due back in court Monday.
