Lockport woman arrested for operating an alleged meth lab

LOCKPORT – A 37-year-old City of Lockport woman was arrested Monday by the Niagara County Drug Task Force for allegedly operating a methamphetamine laboratory in her home at 55 Elmira Street.

Jennifer J. McCabe was charged during the raid about 10 a.m. with second-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and three counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child after children were found in the house. The arrest by the task force and the State Police Special Operations Response Team is linked to a continuing investigation of Lockport area meth labs and complaints from the public, according to Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour. He said the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team cleaned up the house because of the volatile nature of the by-products of meth manufacture. The sheriff said the investigation of McCabe is continuing.
