Letter: Grand Island should ban trapping on public land

Grand Island should ban trapping on public land

Perhaps it’s time for Grand Island to join Clarence, Town of Tonawanda and Cheektowaga in prohibiting “hobby” trapping on public land. The 20,000 Grand Island residents and the many visitors deserve to be able to safely enjoy public land.

When the town government wants to get rid of beavers in Beaver Island Park, it could use “Have a Heart” traps and relocate them instead of maiming and killing them.
