Gerald S. Kehoe, of Williamsville, former donor relations director at Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. He was 88.
Born in Burwash, Ont., near Sudbury, he came to Buffalo with his family as a child and was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. He graduated cum laude from Canisius College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Kehoe joined Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity in 1950 as an accountant and in 1957 was appointed donor relations director, a post he held until he retired in 1990. He continued to serve the agency as a consultant and pilgrimage director until 2001.
He was honored in 1991 with the National Catholic Development Conference’s award for distinguished service to the cause of religious and charitable fundraising.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Louise J. Leto; three sons, Michael, Gerald Jr. and Anthony; a daughter, Mary Merritt; four sisters, Betty Ann Collura, Elaine Suarez, Jean Coleman and Carolyn LoDestro; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 200 St. Gregory Court at Maple Road, Amherst.
