The Western New York Flash has signed midfielder Jeon Ga Eul of South Korea. She will become the first South Korean-born player to participate in the NWSL.
“Jeon should make an immediate impact with our club, while also providing leadership on the field. Her ability to get the ball to her teammates’ feet is impressive,” said Flash General Manager Rich Randall. “Her discipline and on-field vision will be a key piece to our success this year. We are excited for her arrival this March.”
Jeon, 27, was part of South Korea’s team in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup last year, helped the team reach the Round of 16. South Korea lost to France in the knockout round. Jeon played in every minute of her team’s four games.
