Winter clothing drive for the homeless sponsored by H&R Block

A winter clothing drive to help protect the area homeless population is being sponsored by local offices of H&R Block tax preparers. The company will be coordinating the collection with Code Blue Relief, a non-for-profit organization that serves those living on the street.

New and gently used clothing items, including hats and gloves, coats and other warm items, can be dropped off during regular business hours at six H&R Block locations: 1036 Union Road, West Seneca; 695 Main St., East Aurora; 4779 Transit Road, Lancaster; 8016 Transit Road, Amherst; 3193 Delaware Ave., Kenmore and 5811 S. Transit Road, Lockport.

Fans can also bring clothing donations with them to the final Buffalo Bills game of the season on Sunday and drop the items at collection sites at Ralph Wilson Stadium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hockey fans also have an easy way to donate. Collections sites will be open at First Niagara Center during the games on Jan. 16 and Jan. 22, with clothing accepted from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each night.
