Authorities probing whether several Jamestown arsons are related

JAMESTOWN – Three arson fires were reported in Jamestown in the past nine days, with vacant residences targeted on the north side of the city.

On Wednesday, fires were set at 866½ Spring St. and 1052 N. Main St., which was close to the site of an earlier blaze on Dec. 24, at 1054½ N. Main.

Jamestown police and Fire Department investigators are looking into whether the fires are related to arson fires in other vacant houses dating back to 2014. Those fires were at 420 Falconer St. and 206 and 230 McKinley Ave.

Anyone with knowledge of who may be responsible for these or other arsons is asked to call 483-7531; anonymous tips can be left at 483-8477, and all calls will remain confidential.
