OAKFIELD – Authorities have charged a Genesee County man who they say was drunk when he drove his all-terrain vehicle into a parked car on Halloween.
Duty E. Caswell of Oakfield had a blood-alcohol content of 0.21 percent after the crash on South Main Street that ejected him a passenger from the ATV, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said. Caswell fled the scene, but was located a short distance away and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Sheriff’s deputies charged Caswell, 24, with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, unlawful operation of an ATV on a highway, driving an ATV without a helmet and failing to have insurance.
Caswell is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 18 in Oakfield Town Court.
