Niagara Falls sets rules for holiday trash pickup

NIAGARA FALLS – There is no limit to the amount of recycled trash that can be put to the curb next week, Jan. 4 to 8, according to the city Department of Public Works, which holds a bulk pickup in the first week of each month.

Excess recycling such as boxes, junk mail and clean plastic containers can be placed out in an open box next to recycling carts on regular trash days.

Live Christmas trees can go out with the regular trash through the end of January.

Electronics are not accepted for curbside pickup. Televisions, computers, lights and other electronics are accepted free of charge, for Niagara Falls residents only, at the Department of Public Works, 1785 New Road.

The department also issued a holiday trash reminder: trash and recycling normally picked up on Friday will be delayed until Saturday. Trash should be out by 7 a.m. that day
