KENDALL – A new satellite office in Kendall Elementary School is allowing the Orleans County Mental Health Department to provide convenient counseling for students and families in the district two days a week.
Counselor Kristen Acquilano, a licensed clinical social worker, opened the office Oct. 7 and is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays. Students are referred to her by the Kendall counseling staff for assessments and consultations with parents and guardians.
“It helps us address the stressors and the root cause of a student’s behavior at school,” says School Superintendent Julie Christensen. “This is a real boost to our side of the county. Coming here rather than traveling to Albion saves our families time, plus it supplements the services provided by our district’s counseling staff.”
