ALLEGANY – Five Olean residents are facing charges following a home invasion at 1884 Castle Drive about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, State Police said.
The suspects were identified as Logan M. Shearer, 20, Thomas G. Embs, 22, Todd A. Childs, 18, and two males, 16 and 17.
Police said the 16-year-old and Shearer forced their way into the home while Embs, Childs and the 17-year-old remained outside. Inside, the 16-year-old, who displayed a pocket knife, and Shearer fought with a resident who suffered minor injuries, police said. The five then fled, with the 16-year-old later returning to the scene and being arrested, police added.
The 16-year-old and Shearer, who are charged with first-degree burglary, were arraigned in Town of Carrollton Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County jJil in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Embs, Childs and the 17-year-old are charged with felony fourth-degree conspiracy. They also were arraigned in Town of Carrollton Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Police have yet to determine the motive and the case remains under investigation.
