75-year-old Amherst pedestrian hit by car

A 75-year-old Amherst man was in stable condition Sunday after being struck by a car while crossing Main Street at Eggert Road around 11:26 a.m., Amherst police reported.

Marcelos Cisneros was walking across Main from south to north when he was hit by a 2010 Toyota driven by Janet E,. Battaglia, 57, of Amherst, as she was turning left from southbound Eggert onto eastbound Main, according to Captain Patrick McKenna of the Accident Investigation Unit.

Cisneros was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Twin City Ambulance with head, hip and arm injuries. The investigation is continuing.
