Bulletin Board for Dec. 25

The Lancaster Depew Boys and Girls Club, destroyed by fire in 2013, is in the process of rebuilding and hopes to re-open this spring. The club is seeking donations of new items for its game room and teen room. Items needed include pinball games, ping pong table, pool table and foosball table. FOOTBALL: The John F. Kennedy Touch Football League, the oldest football league of its kind in the country, is celebrating its 52nd year. As a commemoration of this event the league is having a 52nd year Awards Dinner and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Saturday, Feb. 20 from 6:30-10 p.m. at The Lake Erie Italian Club (3200 South Park Ave., Lackawanna). SOCCER: Houghton College won the National Christian College Athletic Association soccer championship earlier this month with a victory against Mississippi College in a penalty kick shootout. It was the first national title for a Houghton women’s team and the first championship for any Houghton team since men’s soccer accomplished the feat in 1986. Team members included Meagan Barry (Williamsville North), Darlene Eckhardt (Eden), Abigail Schmidt (Holland), Jennifer Zacchigna (East Aurora) and Shawna Sprout (Portville).
