Great to see art gallery get back on right track
Several years ago, I wrote a letter to The News expressing my disappointment in what was happening at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. I’ve been a life member for many years and have been a docent and volunteer at the gallery, so when things went sour, a big part of my life changed, and not for the better.
However, I’m happy to say that after attending a reception on Dec. 10 at the gallery, which was a thank you to supporters, volunteers and docents, the art gallery is back!
All my “old friends” were back on the walls, being honored in a beautifully displayed exhibit called “Monet and the Impressionist Revolution, 1860-1910.” Director Janne Sirén gave a presentation to the group that was worthy of a postgraduate class. The exhibit is on view from Nov. 15 through March 20, 2016. Seeing these treasures once again made me feel right at home with all my “friends.”
