One lane of the inbound side of the Buffalo Skyway (Route 5) is scheduled to be closed Tuesday and again on Dec. 29 while the state Department of Transportation installs a new fence, officials announced Monday
The right lane of the inbound – eastbound – side of the Skyway near Interstate 190 is slated to be closed to traffic starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday and should be reopened by 6 a.m.
The Dec. 29 fence work will require the lane to be closed again, this time from 9 a.m. that day until as late as 4 a.m. Dec. 30.
The work may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
The DOT reminded drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone and convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
