Not your usual burglary haul

Sometimes, burglars make off with items other than the usual cash, electronics, appliances or stereo equipment.

Like a dog crate, or multiple pairs of Air Jordan sneakers.

Those were the hauls in two unrelated burglaries on the West Side and in South Buffalo over the weekend.

The first occurred on Busti Avenue, between 11 a.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Sunday, when a burglar broke the latch on a window, entered a home and took a dog crate worth $64, along with stereo speakers, Central District police reported.

Then some time Sunday afternoon, a thief entered a home on Lockwood Avenue, in the South Park-Tifft area in South Buffalo, and stole seven pairs of Air Jordans, worth about $1,050, according to South District reports.

In both cases, police have leads on possible suspects.
