BATAVIA – Charles Men’s Shop at 200 East Main St. placed first in the downtown Batavia holiday window decorating contest sponsored by the Batavia Business Improvement District.
For winning, Charles Men’s Shop will receive $200. Adam Miller Toys placed second and Art Ah La Carte placed third.
Honorable mention went to City Council member Rose Mary Christian, who coordinated a nativity scene display in one of the former C.L. Carr store’s vacant windows.
Ten judges – all of them senior citizens who live in the city – cast their votes on Monday after viewing 16 downtown store windows, both during the daytime and evening hours.
