LOCKPORT – A Buffalo man, charged with a stabbing and two robberies in Niagara Falls, received a plea offer Friday in Niagara County Court.
Earl L. Roberson Jr., 38, of Dartmouth Avenue, was given a chance to plead guilty to attempted first-degree assault, which carries a maximum 15-year sentence, and is to return to court Jan. 15.
Assistant District Attorney Peter M. Wydysh said Roberson has two other cases pending, each charging him with violent robberies in the Falls. None of the three cases has been presented to a grand jury yet.
Roberson was accused of stabbing Juan E. Carreras, 27, several times on the afternoon of Sept. 21 outside a neighborhood store in the 1800 block of Niagara Street in the Falls. No information was available about the robberies. Roberson, who has a lengthy criminal record, is being held without bail.
