University at Buffalo School of Nursing associate professor Nancy Campbell-Heider was named a fellow in the International Academy of Addictions Nurses. Fellows are recognized for their contributions through practice, teaching, advocacy, administration and research to the field of addictions nursing. Campbell-Heider also serves as chair of the UB Department of Family, Community and Health System Sciences and is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Addictions Nursing. Campbell-Heider received a doctoral degree and a master’s degree from the University of Rochester, and a bachelor’s degree from Winona State College.
22nd Century Group will open specialized laboratories in Western New York dedicated to new scientific research at substantially lower costs than sponsored research projects at third-party universities. Paul J. Rushton, the company’s recently appointed vice president of plant biotechnology, will lead the new initiative.
