Lockport man accused of selling heroin, fentanyl

A Lockport man was arrested Tuesday on a federal criminal complaint accusing him of possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, according the U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr.

Dion Cheatham, 41, who is accused of selling both heroin and fentanyl in the Lockport area, could face a prison term of up to 20 years and be fined $1 million if convicted as charged. Prosecutors said Cheatam was identified by someone who had overdosed on fentanyl purchased from Cheatham. He remains in custody pending court proceedings.
