LEWISTON – Joshua T. Salada, 24, a Niagara Falls man who works part time as an officer for three Niagara County police departments, was arrested for drunken driving after allegedly causing a three-car injury crash in the Town of Lewiston Saturday night.
Salada is a part-time police officer for the police departments of the towns of Lewiston, Niagara and Youngstown, according to State Police. Salada allegedly drove his Hummer through the red light on Lewiston Road at Hyde Park Road and slammed into two other vehicles stopped at the light at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Several victims needed medical treatment and Salada was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.14 percent, almost twice the state’s legal limit. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding and was ordered to appear in Lewiston Town Court for criminal proceedings in January.
