Coming attractions

Another busy week in boys hockey is on the docket and it all begins at p.m. Monday when bitter rivals Canisius and St. Joe’s renew pleasantries. The game will be part of a doubleheader at HarborCenter. Kenmore West faces North Tonawanda in the nightcap.

Of course, the usual busy slate highlights Thursday’s action at Northtown Center in Amherst with Original Eight rivals St. Joe’s and Williamsville North meeting in the annual pre-Christmas contest at 7 p.m. Williamsville East faces Lancaster at 9 p.m. Southtown rivals Timon and Orchard Park meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Leisure Rinks.

In girls hockey, Lancaster/Iroquois has a pair of tough games beginning with a 7:40 p.m. Tuesday tilt against Kenmore/Grand Island at Lincoln Park and then face Williamsville at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Holiday.

In boys basketball, a busy week of action features intriguing ECIC II and ECIC III clashes Monday with Starpoint hosting Sweet Home at 7 p.m. and East Aurora hosting Amherst at 7:30 p.m.

The annual ADPro Private Public Challenge begins Thursday at Depew High School. There will be 11 games played over the course of three days. The tournament features a marquee match-up of Park facing Amherst at 8 p.m. Friday. There will be five games on Saturday, ending with Williamsville South, the Section VI Class A champion facing Federtation defending Class A champion Canisius.
