Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz was joined Thursday by county officials, representatives from the Orchard Park Recreation Department and Santa Claus as he announced the return of the Santa Land holiday celebration to Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park this weekend. Hours Saturday and Sunday are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Despite a lack of snow,” Poloncarz said, “Christmas is in the air and this weekend we are welcoming Santa Claus back to Chestnut Ridge Park for Santa Land, providing seasonal fun for kids of all ages.”
Presented by the county’s Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department and the Orchard Park Recreation Department, Samya Land offers family activities including hay rides, a hay maze, face painting, marshmallow roasts and arts and crafts. Admission is free. The park casino’s concession stand will be open.
Santa Land is a designated drop-off point for the Toys for Tots campaign. Those attending are invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys for children in need.
