Burglar imprisoned after washing out of drug treatment

LOCKPORT – A man who burglarized his father’s home was sentenced to two to six years in state prison Thursday by Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III.

Carl G. Stiles, 34, of Lincoln Avenue, Town of Lockport, had pleaded guilty Jan. 29 to third-degree burglary, and was admitted to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. By Oct. 29, he had been kicked out of the program for failing to follow its rules. “It was harder than I expected,” Stiles said.

He stole a television and tools from his father’s Lockport home on Oct. 8, 2014.
