Training site opens on medical campus

Learn, a classroom-type setting established to offer training and instruction for founders of startup companies, has opened in the Thomas R. Beecher Jr. Innovation Center on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

The 1,500-square-foot space includes a main suite for up to 30 people and private conference areas that will be used by the medical campus’ business development team and other groups. First Niagara Bank provided a $50,000, two-year grant for Learn, Capstream Technologies provided the audio-visual and digital technology and Mid-City Office Furniture provided the furniture.

Learn primarily will be used for programs offered by the medical campus and its partners such as Start-Up CEL, a joint effort with the University at Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and Student Sandbox. The space also will be made available to outside organizations that work with the region’s entrepreneurial community. For information about Learn at the Innovation Center, contact Vic Nole at
