Fire on South Park Avenue sends two to hospital

Flames ripped through a South Buffalo home early Wednesday morning causing $60,000 in damages, displacing four people who lived there and injuring two people, including a Buffalo firefighter.

The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. at a 2½-story, multiple-family home at 1542 South Park Ave., between Good Avenue and Verona Street.

The Red Cross was called to help three adults. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The firefighter suffered a shoulder and neck injury was taken to the hospital for treatment. One of the residents was taken to the hospital, but the nature of that person’s injuries was not immediately known.
