Springville’s new village administrator arrives with experience from Depew

The new village administrator in Springville arrives with experience in the same post in another village.

Village Board members meeting Monday night selected Elizabeth C. Melock for the post.

She will succeed Timothy L. Horner, who plans to retire Jan. 4 after 15 years in the job.

Melock, 48, who will start in a transitional period Monday, previously served eight years as the Village of Depew’s administrator. Before taking that post, she spent eight years as village treasurer.

A St. Bonaventure University graduate, she also earned a master’s degree in business administration.

In another matter, the village Water Department received a fluoridation quality award from the state Department of Health.

Another honor came from the Erie County Legislature, which recognized the village public safety dispatch center for its round-the-clock dedication during the double lake-effect snowstorm of November 2014.

Board members also accepted a resignation from Louis Reiner, a part-time emergency dispatcher.
