Fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was spotted making his way to Buffalo. For what? Who knows. Possibly Rob is just visiting his brother Rex in Western New York.
Asked about Rob being in town, Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan only said "there's probably some truth to that rumor."
Rob Ryan was fired by the New Orleans mid-season. At the time, Rex said he hadn't thought about hiring his twin brother but admitted it'd be fun.
"He’s a great coach,” Rex Ryan said then on Nov. 17. “He’ll be fine. But that’s the business. This is the business that we chose. It’s going to happen. It happens to everybody. It happened to Belichick — he’s the greatest coach of all time — and it happened to me. It happens to everybody. A tough day, yeah. I would have liked to have seen him finish out the season. Obviously that’s what he would’ve liked.”
Rob Ryan might simply be in town to help Rex game plan for the Philadelphia Eagles, a team he's faced himself.
The last time the two coached together was on their father’s staff with the Arizona Cardinals 1994- ’95.
“I’ll never say never, that’s for sure,” Ryan said. “We’ve kind of purposely set a path going to different teams. He’s his own man, I’m my own man and we’ve purposely set that path. With that being said, I’m not going to lie to you, I think it’d be pretty fun. If it could help, obviously we’d consider it but he’d have to consider it as well. We’ve got great coaches already. But we’ll see.”
