A Buffalo man faces drug and weapons possession charges after the Erie County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics unit raided on Olympic Avenue home.
Authorities said they found a half-ounce of crack cocaine, a loaded semiautomatic handgun, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, scales and packing material during a raid Monday afternoon.
They charged Anthony Thompson, 34, with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a narcotic and criminal possession of a weapon.
Thompson has a previous felony conviction, police said, so he was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon as well as several counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia. He was sent to the Erie County Holding Center on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Buffalo City Court on Friday.
