A Buffalo woman who helped oversee a prostitution ring that included an underaged victim is facing nearly four years in prison.
Caitlin Connelly, 31, admitted assisting her co-defendant, Kenneth White, with a prostitution business that operated from 2006 through 2012 and victimized four women, one of them a minor.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Rogowski, in the plea agreement, says the victims were forced to travel to Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada to meet their johns. He also said White, the ringleader, used threats, coercion and force to keep the victims involved in the business.
White, 39, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty earlier this year to felony sex trafficking and is facing up to 20 years is prison. Connelly pleaded guilty Wednesday to a prostitution conspiracy charge.
Their convictions are the result of an investigation by the FBI and Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigations Division.
