Fort Erie man caught speeding owes $1,395 fine for DWI

FREDONIA – State Police nabbed a Fort Erie, Ont., man for speeding in Chautauqua County who owed nearly $1,400 for an unpaid fine in Erie County.

Kalen Bennett, 34, who had an active bench warrant for failing to pay a $1,395 fine for driving while intoxicated, was stopped for speeding Nov. 24 on Route 60, State Police said. Bennett was going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone, police said.

Bennett was turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and is also scheduled to appear in Pomfret Town Court on Dec. 15.
