PEMBROKE – A woman shot a man in the leg when he forced his way into her home Thursday afternoon, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was at home at about 3 p.m. when the man, with whom she had had a previous relationship, forced his way into her home in Pembroke. She allegedly fired shots at the man, who fled the area in a vehicle.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the woman’s home and an investigation began.
Authorities learned that the man was at a residence in the Village of Akron, where Genesee County deputies and Akron police tracked him down at about 11:25 a.m. Friday.
They found the man had a gunshot wound to his leg. Emergency personnel were called and the man was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The names of the man and woman were not released. The investigation is continuing.
