For the second time in three months, a Lockport contractor has been charged with ripping off a customer.
Town of Tonawanda police charged Vincent E. Brege Jr., 40, with third-degree grand larceny and scheming to defraud a couple who hired him in April for a remodeling job.
Brege, doing business as Affordable Contracting, took a $5,000 deposit but never started any work, police said. The customers had a signed contract.
In September, State Police charged Brege with felony grand larceny, accusing him of taking a $3,000 down payment to remodel a customer’s bathroom in Middleport but not starting the work or returning the money.
Brege, who is being held without bail in the Erie County Holding Center, is due in Tonawanda Town Court at 11 a.m. Monday.
