After Adrianna Conrad-LaFord heard about the horrible events in Paris on Nov. 13, she was inspired to draw something to represent how America feels about its allies.
“France sympathized for America on 9/11, so now, it’s our time to empathize with them,” Adrianna said.
Adrianna said she felt the Statue of Liberty was an appropriate subject because she is a gift from the French.
“The way I thought she’d feel about this event would be powerful sadness for our friends overseas,” the Frontier High School freshman said.
“In my drawing, Miss Liberty represents our great country that will always support its allies and rise against the evils of terrorism. It saddens her to see the people of France and the world hurting. We all must be strong and hold France up during this difficult time.”
