Zemgus Girgensons returned to practice with the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday after and there is a possibility the forward will return to the lineup when the team hosts the Nashville Predators at 7 Wednesday night in First Niagara Center.
"I’m just excited to practice with the team," Girgensons said. "I’ve been a little bit bored the past couple of days with the injury. It’s never fun."
Girgensons was injured in the Nov. 14 game against San Jose and has missed the last three games with an upper body injury.
"I was a little banged up in multiple spots and kinda started feeling it that night," Girgensons said.
Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said Girgensons could return to the lineup Wednesday.
"We saw Zemgus return to practice with the team and it was a good sign for where he’s at," Bylsma said. "We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow."
Mike Weber was back at practice after missing the last six games with a knee injury. Bylsma said his return schedule is "a little bit longer term."
Missing from practice was defenseman Zach Bogosian, whom Bylsma said had a maintenance day, and forward Evander Kane.
"Evander Kane was not on the ice," Bylsma said. "He does have a lower body injury. He’s day to day. If we were in football I’d say probable but I don’t have to say that."
