Newfane woman pleads not guilty to assault, DWI counts in 3-car crash

LOCKPORT – A Newfane woman was arraigned Tuesday in State Supreme Court on charges stemming from a three-vehicle crash June 13 in Newfane, in which the other two drivers were injured, one seriously.

Jackie M. Carlin, 30, of Lockport-Olcott Road, pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault and vehicular assault, five misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, two counts of unsafe passing and a lane violation.

Carlin’s blood alcohol content was measured at .16 percent, twice the legal threshold for intoxication, and she also is charged with having cocaine and methadone in her system at the time of the wreck on Lockport-Olcott Road.
