A driver struck an Erie County Sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle Tuesday morning on Route 400 near Transit Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
The deputy, who was responding to weather-related incidents and was outside the vehicle when it was hit, was uninjured.
The vehicle sustained significant damage. It was struck in one of the northbound lanes and one lane of the expressway was closed for a portion of the morning commute.
The sheriff’s office is urging drivers to adjust their speed to the driving conditions and to be careful on area roadways.
