Springville-Griffith Institute School Board accepts high school principal’s resignation

The Springville-Griffith Institute School Board accepted the resignation of the high school principal Monday night, Interim Superintendent Sylvia Root said.

Vincent Vanderlip had been placed on a paid leave of absence in September for an undetermined length of time following an incident during a senior class trip to Pittsburgh in September. Officials investigated the alleged incident but have declined to give details.

John Baronich Jr., who has been serving as acting principal at the high school, will remain in the position until a permanent high school principal is found.
