Canadian arrested in NEXUS lane with pills, meth

A member of the Trusted Travelers Program, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection initiative for pre-approved, low-risk travelers, was arrested Sunday on the Peace Bridge and charged with drug possession.

Customs officials said Shannon Burberry, 38, of Canada, was found in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills while trying to enter the U.S. through a NEXUS lane.

They said a secondary inspection of Burberry’s vehicle turned up more than 200 oxycodone pills and 2.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Burberry was arrested and turned over to Buffalo Police.
