Alleged drunk driver strikes ambulance

A motorist is accused of striking an ambulance Friday night while allegedly driving drunk on Buffalo’s East Side, police said.

Northeast District officers said Liam Skelton was driving northbound on Humboldt Parkway and at East Ferry Street struck an eastbound 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ambulance responding to a medical emergency with its lights and sirens activated.

Skelton failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated.
