NIAGARA FALLS – State police stopped a man on a moped on Hyde Park Boulevard Friday afternoon, and discovered he was riding a moped that had been reported stolen in that city.
Naquan M. Mathews, 24, of Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls, was arrested at Hyde Park Boulevard and Ontario Avenue and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony. Mathews already was under indictment in Niagara County Court on charges of making two crack cocaine sales in April.
Troopers said that traffic violations led to Mathews’ arrest at about 1:30 p.m. Friday. He was charged with moving from a lane unsafely, failure to signal a turn, not wearing a helmet with a face shield, unlicensed driving and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
